Welcome to The Renovation Couple!
Here at The Renovation Couple, we dream of impacting SWFL one project at a time. Over 20 years ago, Marcio and Jana Gequelin began their journey when they started their own flooring company. During this time, they discovered the rewarding work of realizing clients’ dreams. They created a large base of connections with people who were satisfied with their work – many of whom became our clients again and recommended us to their close friends. As clients began to trust them with creative license on bathroom and kitchen renovation projects, the Gequelins discovered their love for design and renovations. (The hours they spent watching HGTV with their two daughters certainly fed this love as well).
Beginning with a handful of major whole house remodels, they were convinced to grow and expand their business into diverse areas of the construction industry, leading to the formation of The Renovation Couple. Their passions and hard work led them to become a Certified Building Contractor in 2020. This new opportunity brought even more clients to them. This meant they needed to build a team that could partner with them to deliver the same quality of service they had given clients for two decades.
Today, our team at The Renovation Couple has led renovations on projects of all types and sizes from dream bathroom transformations to leading the build back of an apartment complex destroyed by Hurricane Ian.

PHASE 01
Personal Consultation
Your renovation journey begins with a personal consultation. During this intentional time with our renovation experts, we will discuss your ideas, wants, and aspirations for your home, as well as any potential challenges that may occur during the remodeling process. We will take notes, pictures, and measurements so that we have all the information we need to create the design of your dreams. Once the consultation is complete, we will follow up via email, call, or meeting to continue designing the construction of your dreams.
PHASE 02
Estimate & Approval
Based on all that was deliberated during your personal consultation, our team will prepare a personalized estimate for you. In this estimate, all costs will be detailed clearly. In accordance with one of our company values of integrity, we welcome questions and conversation about the estimate. We are available every step of the way: for debating different ideas, choosing materials, discussing the scope of the renovation, and aligning our plans with your aspirations for your space. We will also discuss details for payment and timeline. As soon as you approve the estimate, we will submit and apply for all necessary permitting so work can begin as soon as possible.
PHASE 03
Design & Selection
Throughout the project, our team will help you visualize your choices to ensure your satisfaction upon completion of the project. We are prepared to provide you with guidance on the selections of materials, colors, and other elements that will be used in your project. This step occurs simultaneously with the creation of the project timeline.
PHASE 04
Project Timeline
May the work begin! You will now receive a detailed schedule with a timeline of each stage of your project. Our team will keep you updated and ensure your safety by working under approved permits, following county inspection regulations, and providing you with efficient, high-quality work. Our licensed professionals will deliver you the project of your dreams.
PHASE 05
Final Walkthrough
The time has come! Once the project has been completed according to your desires, a final walkthrough is scheduled with you. Together we will take in your renewed space and talk through the details of the design. This is our favorite part; revealing your dream come true!
